Chief Daniel Brown – Winslow, PD

Chief Dan Brown was named the Chief of Police for the City of Winslow in May of 2017 and previously served as the Chief of Police for the City of St. Johns from 2014 to 2017.

Chief Brown began his career with the Mesa Police Department in 1998. He later became a founding member of the Maricopa Police Department where, as a sergeant, he was the third sworn employee in the department’s history. Chief Brown later served as a Commander with the Gila River Police Department before moving with his family to Northeastern Arizona.

Chief Brown has the distinction of having served as a basic police academy sergeant in three separate regional police academies in the State of Arizona (ALEA, CARLOTA and NALETA). Chief Brown has served as the President of the Apache County Youth Council, the 2017 President of the Northeast Arizona Police Association and was a co-founder of the Apache County Alliance to Prevent Sexual and Domestic Violence.

Chief Brown is a veteran of both the United States Marine Corps and the Army National Guard of Arizona. Chief Brown holds a B.S. in Education and a Masters of Administration, both from Northern Arizona University. Chief Brown is a graduate of the 267th Session of the FBI National Academy, the Southern Police Institute Chief Executive Leadership Course and the Arizona Leadership Program.
Chief Brown and his wife, Rhea, have been married since 1994 and have one adult daughter.
